STATSVILLE, NC. — Blue Ridge Beef issued a voluntary recall on Oct. 27 of its Breeders Choice 2-lb raw dog food due to Salmonella contamination. The recall was issued after Blue Ridge Beef was notified by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) that the dog food tested positive for the pathogen.
The recall only impacts Breeders Choice 2-lb dog food formula with a lot code of 8/2/24 and a UPC of 8 54298 00193 1. The dog food was distributed between Aug. 9 and Aug. 25 and sold in retail stores throughout Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Virgina. It is packaged in clear plastic.
According to Blue Ridge Beef and the FDA, no recall-related illnesses have been reported to date.
