Real Mushrooms debuts daily supplement for dogs

CALGARY, ALBERTA — Real Mushrooms, a company specializing in mushroom-based food, health and supplement products, announced Dec. 11 the launch of Daily Dawg, a new multipurpose supplement for dogs touting a variety of health benefits.

The supplements contain the company’s 5 Defenders Mushroom blend — which is comprised of organic reishi, turkey tail, maitake, shiitake and chaga mushrooms — as well as lion’s mane and cordyceps fungi varieties. The supplements are also formulated with herbal adaptogens, probiotics, seaweed, phytoplankton, krill, lignans, antioxidants and fatty acids.

According to Real Mushrooms, this combination of ingredients helps support mobility, immunity, digestion and gut health, heart health, weight management, allergies, blood sugar maintenance and longevity in canines.

Pet parents go to great lengths, and at great expense, to ensure health and longevity for their dogs,” said Rob Silver, DVM, formulator and chief veterinary officer for Real Mushrooms. “Daily Dawg was created to be everything our dogs need to power through the day. We wanted to provide an all-in-one solution that’s health-promoting for all dogs and economical for all pet parents.”

According to data from Grand View Research, pet supplement sales in 2022 exceeded $2 billion. As the supplement category continues to proliferate, Real Mushrooms aims to provide dogs with a powerful all-in-one option in an effort to support pet health and help pet parents get the most bang for their buck.

The new supplements first appeared on store shelves on Dec. 11.
