Dog owners are reminded the deadline to purchase 2022 dog tags to avoid a $10 late fee is March 31.

Municipal dog tags can be purchased at the animal shelter in Chatham or at any municipal office, over the phone by calling 311 or online at www.pawr.org, states a media release from Pet and Wildlife Rescue.
Animal control reminds residents the responsible animal ownership bylaw requires that all dog owners must obtain municipal dog licences for their dogs each year, the release said.
Residents who fail to purchase 2022 dog tags risk being fined $240.
The cost of a dog tag is $38 for non-spayed/neutered dogs and $28 for spayed/neutered dogs.
Should you no longer own a dog or you have moved, animal asks that you contact 311 or 519-360-1998 to have your dog licence account inactivated or updated.
