PADUCAH — This weekend's dog walking forecast predicts some good dogs and some responsible owners!
Saturday, September 7, is the Paducah Kennel Club's Responsible Dog Ownership Day, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. you and your pup can engage in dog sport demonstrations, activities, microchipping, and more.
This event will have a number of activities and demonstrations, including:
- Agility at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., and 1 p.m.
- A pet parade at 11 a.m.
- Kentucky State Police K9 at 11:10 a.m., 11:50 a.m., and 12:30 p.m.
- Meet the Breed Activity
- Scentwork Demos
- Search, Rescue, and Tracking Demos
- Herding Demos
- FCAT, Barn Hunt, and Dock Diving Information
- Fit Dog Information
- Therapy Dog Information
- Rally and Obedience Demos
There will be a food truck for the humans and free Pupmuffin snacks for dogs.
The event will also feature a microchipping clinic, where for $25 per dog your dog can be chipped and receive a lifetime enrollment in AKC reunite.
The PKC is offering Canine Good Citizen testing for all dogs, where they can take a 10-skill test that teaches good manners to dogs and responsible dog ownership to their owners. The test costs $25.
The PKC is also offering Trick Dog testing, where your pup can show off their tricks and work towards the title. The test costs $25.
All dogs must be leashed throughout this event.
Responsible Dog Ownership Day will be located at the Paducah Kennel Club, at 1325 Fisher Road, West Paducah, KY.
