HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – Families across Harrisonburg and Rockingham County received heartwarming surprises this holiday season, thanks to the Rockingham-Harrisonburg SPCA’s annual “Elves in Action” program.
The initiative allowed adopters to schedule special holiday deliveries of their newly adopted pets straight to their homes, carried out by Santa’s helpers. The program, designed to bring joy to families and animals alike, has become a cherished tradition for the community.
Marlon Copeland, a new pet owner, expressed his excitement about the program.
“We went to pick out this specific dog, and I found out from the workers there that they do this program. I thought it came in handy this time around,” Copeland shared.
Through the “Elves in Action” program, pets were delivered with festive collars, leashes, or crates, spreading joy during the most wonderful time of the year.
This year’s program ran from December 16th to December 21st, with deliveries scheduled for December 23rd, 24th, and Christmas morning. For more information about the RHSPCA and its mission, visit their website.
