Vislor Antilly, the German Shepherd who played Brandy in Netflix’s After Life, has died at the age of 13. Fondly known as Anti, she was Ricky Gervais’s on-screen pet in the hit comedy-drama. Following the news of her passing, Gervais paid tribute on social media.
Sharing a still from the series, Gervais wrote, “Sad news. ‘Anti,’ who played ‘Brandy’ in After Life, has died. She was 13 and a very good girl.” The image captures the actor and Anti seated on the iconic lakeside bench from the show.

Many fans extended tributes to Anti. “Farewell to a wonderful hound … And a very good actress,” a fan wrote. “I’ve never cried as much as when Brandy barked when Tony was about to top himself. Clever doggy. Bestest girl. What a celebration of your life,” another fan commented.
“The pain of losing a dog is horrific. So sorry. lost my girl last June and the pain is still awful. So sad. they are up there playing together,” a third user said.
Born in Herefordshire, at the residence of West Bromwich-based Vislor Dog Training Centre, Anti has been a part of multiple shows and movies, including Tom Cruise’s film Edge of Tomorrow, The Midnight Sky alongside George Clooney, The Boys in the Boat, and others. The dog also appeared in Britain’s Got More Talent and Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.
Anti was last seen in July 2024 in the Midsomer Murders episode The Debt of Lies. She was raised by trainers Travis and Ashley Foster, the BBC News reported.
