Royal Canin hires site leader for Pet Health Nutrition Center

ST. CHARLES, MO. — Mars, Inc.’s Royal Canin North America pet nutrition division announced that it has appointed Chris Moses to site leader for the Royal Canin Pet Health Nutrition Center (PHNC) in Lewisburg, Ohio. Moses will oversee a team of 71, whose work includes assessing digestibility and palatability of Royal Canin diets. He brings nearly 20 years of animal health experience to the role.

“I was immediately enamored by what Royal Canin stands for — it truly is about the pets,” Moses said. “Products are not designed to appease pet parents but to find the proper diet for each individual cat and dog.”

The PHNC is one of two Royal Canin pet centers globally and the company’s only US-based location. The PHNC focuses on key priorities for the Royal Canin business including skin and coat health, mobility, immunity and aging. The work performed at the PHNC enables the development of products tailored to individual pet needs.

“The innovation process is critical to all we do at Royal Canin to meet the unique needs of cats and dogs, and I am thrilled to have Chris help lead the process in North America,” said Denise Elliot, Ph.D., global vice president of research and development for Royal Canin. “His passion, charisma and deep love of animals will enable him to continuously elevate the great work of the team in Lewisburg.”

Prior to joining Royal Canin, Moses worked in various roles in the pet industry including research, customer service and animal facility management. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science from Virginia State University.

Moses relocated to Lewisburg, where he immediately became active in the community attending Lewisburg Business Leaders and Chamber of Commerce monthly meetings and volunteering for the Victory Project in Dayton, where he will serve as a mentor for disengaged young men.
