Meet our lovable pets of the week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Hector and Lola are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!

Bird of the week: Hector

Hector came into our care in very poor condition, having spent his early life so stressed and unhappy that he plucked at his own feathers to the point of being flightless. No one knows poor Hector’s exact situation throughout his early life; however, soon after purchasing him, his previous owners came to realise that he needed much more care than they could provide.

Hector has since been in our care and, in that time, has transformed from malnourished, injured and terrified to happy, healthy and well-loved. Hector is finally ready to find his forever home, preferably with another macaw or large parrot to keep this chatty and loving boy in good company.

Hector is the embodiment of an ‘iPad kid’ and demands his YouTube videos be on whether he’s just barely waking up, eating a meal or playing with his many toys. Hector is currently binge-watching Scooby Doo but will happily join in (with judgmental commentary) and watch your favourite shows with you.

To meet this magnificent boy, book an appointment by phoning the RSPCA ACT shelter today!

Dog of the week: Lola

Sweet Lola has been in our care for over six months now. She is just over two years old and is still a young pup at heart. Sweet Lola gave birth to puppies of her own while in our care and they’ve all been adopted.

She’s at that point where most adults get to but will never admit: happy to see the kids live somewhere else and enjoying some well-earned peace and quiet. But, she is more than ready to enjoy this newfound peace and quiet in a comfortable, calm home environment where she can have her own human and her own space.

Lola will be incredibly loyal to you and will be waiting at your door when you get home. She’s not too keen on other dogs or cats, but she’ll be entertained easily by your attention and toys – oh, she loves playing with toys.

Come and visit Lola today; you’ll love her.

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
