RSPCA ACT’s Pets of the Week – Millie and Hugo

At RSPCA ACT, we have two incredible pets searching for their perfect forever homes.

Meet Millie, a loving and devoted dog who just wants to be by your side, and Hugo, a shy but sweet cat waiting for a patient adopter to help him shine. Could one of them be the companion you’ve been looking for?

Dog of the Week: Millie

Millie’s past wasn’t the easiest, but she’s ready to start a new chapter with someone who will love her for who she is. At five years old, Millie is a beautiful, affectionate dog who craves companionship. She would thrive in a home where someone is around often as she truly enjoys spending time with her people.

Millie isn’t looking for anything too demanding, just a daily on-lead walk, some playtime and plenty of love. She would do best as the only pet in the household where she can soak up all the attention. While she may not make the best first impression in her kennel, don’t let that fool you. Once she’s at home, she will be the most devoted companion you could ask for.

She loves carrying her soft toys around, snuggling up for cuddles and simply being by your side. In return, she promises unconditional love and loyalty that will make every moment together special.

Cat of the Week: Hugo

Hugo may be a little shy at first, but with time and patience, he has the potential to become a loving and affectionate companion. This sweet boy enjoys his quiet moments, often found relaxing in his bed, but he also appreciates gentle pats.

Hugo is what we call a ‘project cat’. He’s looking for a special human (or humans) who can provide him with the understanding, patience, and love he needs to come out of his shell. Life in the shelter has been a bit overwhelming for Hugo, but we know that in the right home, one that’s calm and quiet, he’ll gain confidence and form a deep bond with those who care for him.

One thing that is sure to win him over? Food! Hugo loves his breakfast. If you’re looking for a rewarding journey with a cat who will grow to adore you, Hugo might be your perfect match.

Pawsnote: Last week’s Pet of the Week, Gatsby, found his forever home! Let’s make it happen for Millie and Hugo too!
