RSPCA ACT’s Pets of the week – Nova and Billy

Meet our lovable pets of the week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Nova and Billy are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!

Dog of the Week: Nova

Nova would probably be a fan of Canadian musician Bryan Adams. You know the tune, “Look into my eyes, and you will see what you mean to me.”

Seriously, that entire earworm of a song, ‘Everything I do, I do it for you’, really sums up what we’re trying to tell you about Nova. She loves people, wants to reciprocate love, and wants (and deserves) her very own family to truly enjoy life.

She’s good with other dogs, too, so if you have a lonely canine, Nova can help. Our girl is not even two years old, loves playing games with you and has shown us an ability to learn lots of new things.

For a cuddly, playful and extremely loyal girl, drop by our shelter and say hello to her. She’d love to meet you and perhaps hang out “all the time, all the waaaay, yeeeaaah **piano and guitar solo** …

Cat of the Week: Billy

This handsome gent has already been here in our care for too long; only eight weeks, but that’s a long time for a cat. We blame the popularity of our recent kitten surge because Billy is a terrific feline.

Lately you’ll find him patrolling our enclosed outdoor run. He was a tiny bit hesitant to enter at first but now he loves it. That’s his thing, you see, a big space all to himself, so our apologies, apartment dwellers, Billy probably isn’t ideal for you.

He’s affectionate and will seek out your company on the couch. He needs to be the only cat in the house and would much prefer a calm, quiet environment to live in, where he can chill out and relax, a not uncommon trait for cats.

Billy is only just two years old and would make a marvellous companion. Drop by and see him. He’s an eager greeter, so he’ll start talking to you from his enclosure almost immediately!

Pawnote: In recent weeks, we’ve seen a few of our longer-tenured dogs adopted, which genuinely brings us tears of joy. Thank you, Canberra, for always supporting us.

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
