RSPCA ACT’s Pets of the week – Tommy and Reece

Meet our lovable pets of the week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Tommy and Reece are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!

Dog of the Week: Tommy

Let’s file Tommy in the “How is he still not adopted?” category. He’s a mix of two wonderful breeds, being a Labrador Retriever, and he’s as loveable as you’d imagine.

His instincts are great. He gets super excited when it’s time to go for a walk, but be aware, he’ll also jump up at you. Not because he’s a bad boy (he’s a very good boy!) but because he’s just so darn happy you’re here! Don’t worry, our team can help you rectify this, it’s a training thing.

We think the ideal owner to love Tommy would have experience with labs or GRs, as they need a brush here and there for grooming. He adores people and will even share his toys (naaaaaw). Of course, you’ll need the basics, too, like living in a fenced home with a backyard.

Drop by and visit this goodest boy, Tommy. You’ll fall in love with him immediately!

Reece is a handsome five-month-old who needs as much love as possible.

Cat of the Week: Reece

We love Reece. He’s yet another example of what a little love can do for an animal that’s lost and confused. He arrived as a stray with his sibling, a very scared and timid duo.

But sprinkle some love and voila, here we have a young little guy who’s slowly learning that people are friendly and best of all, we’ll give you food!

Reece is still a little hand-shy, but he’ll come out of his bed to sniff and see what’s going on. If he’s not sure, he’ll retreat, but this is pretty normal. Once a handsome cat like Reece settles into your home, he’ll be a sensational pet. He’s only five months old and has a lifetime of adventures and learning new things ahead of him.

Drop by our cattery today or Saturday, between 10 am and 3 pm, to meet Reece and many more wonderful cats waiting for their forever homes. No appointment necessary.

Dusty has found his furever home.

Pawnote: The adorable kelpie named Dusty was adopted last week and we’re very grateful. Thanks for your support Canberra, we’re lost without you.

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
