Meet our lovable pets of the week looking for forever homes at the RSPCA ACT Shelter!

Zera and Sierra are this week’s friendly Pets of the Week! These lovely animals are waiting to find their perfect match. Think that could be you? Read more about them below!

Dog of the Week: Zera

Let’s go exploring! This is Zera, a seven-year-old German Shepherd who needs a home and someone to love. She’ll need a little bit of exercise but nothing too strenuous; she just wants a companion or two to go with her while she explores.

She’ll be a sweet pet. She’ll love and adore you, stay loyal and be your sidekick. At seven, she’s no longer a puppy, but she’s clever and would love the opportunity to learn new things.

We think her smile tells the true story; she’s just friendly. Nothing mysterious about her, just a good, friendly girl who will love you and make you feel fantastic.

Like most dogs, this girl will need an enclosed yard and should be your only pet. Come and meet her and give her the chance to blossom at your home – you won’t be sorry.

Rabbit of the Week: Sierra

Sierra the Rex Rabbit is fun and will make a sensational pet. She was surrendered to us with a few of her siblings. She’s used to enjoying household life, so while she gets loads of attention from our staff and volunteers every day, the shelter is not a good place for her.

We think she’s funny because she has an attitude. She’ll let you pat her, no worries at all, but then she’ll get tired of that and tell you so. But then she’ll follow you around your house all day, showing you she still wants to be friends.

You’d need a large indoor/outdoor hutch for her, and even though she’s lived with other rabbits in the past, we think she’ll need some time to be the only rabbit in the household, at least until she gets used to things.

Is your home the place for the adorable, soft and sassy little girl? Come and visit her; she’s oh so soft to the touch!

Pawnotes: With many families coming together and sharing spare time over the holiday season, it’s the perfect opportunity to discuss, meet and integrate a new, furry family member into your home, and we have many large dogs who desperately want a family to love!

Visit RSPCA ACT today at 12 Kirkpatrick St, Weston, and add a new companion to your life. You won’t regret it!
