Sale Creek House Fire: Home Damaged, Pets Lost | Local News

A house fire late Saturday night in Sale Creek left the home seriously damaged.

Firefighters from the Sale Creek Volunteer Fire Department responded to the home on Detour Road at about 10:25pm after reports of possible entrapment in the blaze.

When firefighters arrived, they report that the home was about 50% involved with heavy fire showing at the rear.

The homeowner told firefighters that the house had been evacuated, allowing them to enter and fight the fire, which they were able to get under control by about about 11:00pm.

Three dogs and a kitten, family pets, were lost in the fire.

But family heirlooms and keepsakes were recovered and provided to the family.

The home is considered to be a total loss.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
