On Sunday, March 9th, community members gathered at Sawgrass Pet Resort for a paw-sitively fun party to celebrate the business’s fifth anniversary.
The pet resort, located in Sawgrass Village, is on a mission to provide a safe, active, recreational, and healthy environment while improving the quality of life for its four-legged patrons.
When the business opened five years ago, during the peak of the pandemic, owner Kate Wagner knew it would be a tough road to success.
“I’m lucky that we stayed open at all,” she said, reflecting on the tumultuous times in early 2020. “It took a lot of work to do so.”
The family-owned business spent the last few years building a reputation as the premiere location in Ponte Vedra for state-of-the-art doggie daycare and boarding. In fall of 2024, Sawgrass Pet Resort expanded with an additional 2,000 square feet, to be used as a pet boarding space. Artificial turf was also laid down as part of the resort’s backyard and new fencing was placed around the facility.
“I’m so grateful to all of the people who kept coming and supported us,” Wagner said. “And to my team. They’re what makes us who we are. I’m so lucky to have them.”
The anniversary party welcomed community members and their furry friends for an evening of live music and food trucks. There were also games, giveaways, and a pet caricature artist to capture the very best angles of partygoers’ canine companions.
Guests enjoyed live music and an exciting atmosphere as they traversed exclusive tours of the facility or strolled around the resort’s nature trail.
As Sawgrass Pet Resort celebrates five years of growth and community, Wagner remains focused on providing a place where dogs can thrive—and where their humans feel like family.
