Leo, a 7-year-old lab mix, is patiently waiting for a forever home at the Colonial Capital Humane Society. Described as “super calm” and “lovey,” Leo was surrendered by his previous owner for reasons unrelated to behavior, said Annelie McGhee, a kennel technician at the shelter.
“He is just the sweetest dog ever. I love him. He's a shelter favorite here,” McGhee said. Despite his affectionate nature, Leo has not garnered much interest due to his age.
Leo is fully potty trained, kennel trained, and walks well on a leash. “He knows all of his basic commands. He is so good,” McGhee said. She believes Leo would thrive in a home with older, calmer dogs and has noted his positive interactions with children.
Leo's adoption fee is $215. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and tested heartworm negative. McGhee expressed her hope for Leo's adoption, saying, “He deserves it.”
