Animal Rescue Cumbria and The Wainwright Shelter take in, rehabilitate and rehome 350 cats and dogs every year. Once a dog has been assessed by the animal care team, they can be advertised for adoption.

SAMSON the German Shepherd is estimated to be around one year old.
He is looking for an extra special owner who has experience handling large breed dogs and can work to continue his training.
Samson needs a home where there are no children or other pets, he would also like to find a place with a secure garden.
Animal Rescue Cumbria said he is ‘very clever and eager to please’.
Samson would love to find an owner who can give him a job or an activity to do.
FLORA the Border Collie is one year and eight months old.
She is looking for an extra special home that can help her acclimatise to living in a home.
Animal Rescue Cumbria said she is a ‘very sweet lady’ who loves to be with people and would like her new owners to be around a lot of the time while she is settling in.
She would prefer a quiet, rural home and would make a great companion for fell walking or running.
Flora is good with others and could live with a calm dog if introduced correctly, but she is best suited to a home where there are no cats.
SADIE is a Whippet Cross, who is estimated to be around a year old.
This ‘super sweet little lady’ would like a home where her humans are around most of the time.
Sadie could potentially live alongside a polite, gentle dog with the correct introductions, but she is looking for a home where there are no small furry animals and where the resident children are of school age or above.
Animal Rescue Cumbria said Sadie is very cuddly and loves to be with people, she also needs to find a home where there is a secure garden.
TAN the Border Collie is one year and eight months old.
He is looking for an extra special home that can help him acclimatise to living in a home and build his confidence.
Animal Rescue Cumbria said is a very sweet lad who would like his new owners to be around lots if of the time whilst he is settling in.
Tan is good with other dogs and could live with a calm dog with the correct introductions.
He is described as a very sweet boy who loves to be with people and would make a great companion for fell runners or fell walkers.
Tan would prefer a quiet, rural home and would be best suited to one with no cats.
BUDDIE the Springer Spaniel is five years old.
Animal Rescue Cumbria said: “He is a sweet-natured boy who loves human company and enjoys his cuddles! He is an active boy who loves going out for walks either on his own or with other dogs. Buddie is your typical ‘busy-bodied’ spaniel!”
Due to his friendly personality, he could live with another calm dog and could potentially school-aged children.
The charity said they are unsure if Buddie has met cats before so he would be better suited to a home without cats.
BRIGG the Labrador is seven years and ten months old.
He is described as a sweet-natured boy who loves human company and enjoys his cuddles.
Brigg is an active boy who loves going out for walks either on his own or with other dogs.
Due to his gentle personality, he could live with school-aged children as well as another calm dog.
Animal Rescue Cumbria said they are unsure if Brigg has met cats before.
