Noida: A large shelter home will soon be built for stray dogs in Greater Noida, on the lines of Noida. All canines that are sick, injured or are causing trouble to city residents in any manner will be kept here. The Greater Noida Authority is currently looking for a place to build the dog shelter. As per sources aware of the matter, the dog shelter home will be built on 4 acres of land, as the dog population is increasing in Greater Noida.
The city has been witnessing a surge in stray dog menace and almost every day dog bite cases are reported, especially in and around high-rise societies. Several animal lovers feed the strays, but the canines are apparently not friendly to all. There have been instances when the stray dogs have bit kids as well. Hence, to check the rising dog bite cases without harming them, a dog shelter is being planned.
Not just strays, there are times when pet owners abandon their old, sick or injured dogs. Such dogs will also find shelter at the upcoming dog home.
