LVIV, UKRAINE — Kormotech shared plans to expand its manufacturing operations in Kėdainiai, Lithuania. The company is seeking to significantly expand its team and plans to invest more than €60 million ($65.8 million USD) in its operations in the region.

Kormotech originally entered Lithuania in 2020 through the launch of its 4,500-square-meter (48,437-square-foot) manufacturing facility in the Kėdainiai Free Economic Zone. During that year, the company planned to hire 70 personnel, but soon surpassed those expectations and hired more than 170 specialists.

The company’s Kėdainiai facility specializes in wet pet food production and boasts a high degree of automation and modern equipment, according to Kormotech. It currently has an annual capacity of 20,000 tons.

“Since the start of our Lithuanian operations, both our production and sales goals have been achieved and exceeded, and we hired twice the number of employees originally planned,” said Andrii Berezyuk, director of Kormotech UAB. “This successful experience, along with the smooth construction of our factory, favorable conditions in the Free Economic Zone, support from Invest Lithuania, and our well-established network of partners and suppliers, has led us to the decision to expand the facility in Lithuania.”

Following such significant success in Lithuania, Kormotech will embark upon a new expansion project, consisting of four production stages to expand its facilities in the country from 2025 to 2028. To support the project, Kormotech has received support from Invest Lithuania.

“In Kėdainiai, Kormotech has built a modern, highly automated plant employing local specialists of various competencies,” said Elijus Čivilis, general manager of Invest Lithuania. “The company’s decision to expand its facilities and double the size of its team demonstrates the quality of both local business infrastructure and talent.”

The company will develop a new facility, which is expected to launch its first production line by 2025, adding an additional line each year until all four are operational by 2028. Kormotech will also add 200 new jobs in Lithuania, doubling its current headcount in Kėdainiai.

“We consider Lithuania our second home market,” said Rostyslav Vovk, chief executive officer and co-owner of Kormotech. “While we plan to build new production facilities in Ukraine once the war is over, Lithuania currently serves as our gateway to the world. The plant has proven to be a reliable support system, consistently operating at full capacity and bridging the gaps when our Ukrainian plants experience disruptions. We are committed to expanding our facilities in Lithuania further with the construction of four additional production stages by 2028.”
