A video shows people trying to separate dogs after one was attacked by the other at a restaurant in Florida’s Miami Dade County Friday evening.
Chris Borchetta, an owner of one of the dogs, told Local 10 News that his pet needed surgery after being assaulted by a pit bull. “She started screaming and I looked down and there was a dog locked onto her and (it) started to drag her across the pool deck,” Borchetta recalled.
“The [attacking] dog was silent. It walked up from behind, we didn’t hear anything. There was no growling, no barking,” he added, describing the unprovoked nature of the assault. (RELATED: Man Stops Kangaroo From Drowning His Dog, Video Shows)

Several people tried to separate the dogs and were eventually successful. Borchetta then called 911, NBC6 reported.
Both owners of the two dogs claimed their pets were service animals, Local 10 News reported.
Borchetta expressed skepticism over the other owner’s claim. “The owner did say it’s a service animal, but you’re not sure, service animals are supposed to be trained to not be aggressive and not react,” he said, NBC6 reported. The owner of the restaurant told NBC6 that only service dogs are permitted on the premises.
The owner of the pit bull paid for Borchetta’s pet’s surgery costs, the outlet reported. A police report of the incident was filed, according to Local 10 News.
