Stressed dog owners may be making their pets depressed

Dog owners who bring their work stresses home with them could be making their pets depressed.

A new study has found dogs are highly sensitive and catch the emotions and feelings of humans.

A team of psychologists from Radford University in Virginia, USA, advise owners to look out for signs their dogs are unhappy, which includes excessive whimpering and poor appetite.

It comes as work-related stress was reported in a 2023 poll to affect an estimated 6 in 10 workers in Ireland.
