Dog lovers in Duplin County are gearing up for a weekend of fun with their furry friends at the “Strutt with Your Mutt” event. Scheduled for this Sunday, the event will feature a 5K and a one-mile fun run at the English Country Barn of the Carolinas in Magnolia.
Participants are reminded to keep their dogs on a leash. The event promises a variety of activities, including a pet costume contest and fun activities for children.
Charlotte Gunn, co-coordinator of Strutt with Your Mutt, said, “So there's actually a horse arena at the venue, which is really cool, so that's where our costume contest will take place. It is on May the 4th so may the fourth be with you – however you want to dress up your furry friends.”
Attendees can also look forward to raffle prizes, including a two-week board-and-train for their pets. The event is sponsored by Adoption First Animal Rescue in Jacksonville, which plans to have some animals available for adoption at Sunday's event.
