TALK OF THE TOWN: It’s Mission: Impawsable as Tom tries to get permit for Ana’s dog

Tom Cruise is known for his death-defying stunts, but now I can reveal the star is facing a task even his Mission: Impossible character Ethan Hunt might find tricky – securing a dog permit.

I hear the 62-year-old actor has had to apply for official permission to allow his new girlfriend Ana de Armas's pets to stay at his Knightsbridge apartment.

Sources say the plush London property has strict rules requiring animals to have clearance. Ever the action hero, Cruise is said to have personally filed the paperwork – no stunt double needed – to make sure Ana's pets feel at home.

‘Tom's done high-speed chases, skydives, and dangling off skyscrapers – but this might be his most unexpected challenge yet,' a source joked. ‘The dog's adorable, but the paperwork? Not so much.'

De Armas has two dogs, a Maltese named Elvis and a Spanish water dog called Salsa.

On Elvis's 17th birthday in March, she posted: ‘I love you more than you will ever know.'

Things are clearly hotting up for Cruise and the Cuban-Spanish actress, 37, who have been spotted on dates in London in recent weeks. They've been pictured together in public multiple times since they first met in February, but neither party has officially confirmed that they are in a relationship.

Most recently, they both attended David Beckham's 50th birthday party and left together in the same car. Ana was seen ducking away from photographers, leading many to speculate the pair are more than just friends.

While the nature of their personal relationship remains unconfirmed, Ana spoke openly about their professional relationship in an interview last week, saying she was ‘so excited' to be working on ‘several' projects with him.
