Normally £549, Amazon has dropped the price by 40%
If there's one chore that we could cut out of our weekly routine, I bet that most folks would choose the vacuuming. Not only is it energy intensive having to cart heavy cleaners up stairs and around the home, but it's time consuming, potentially taking up to an hour to deep clean an entire house.
For that that find vacuuming to be the worst chore of the bunch, it might be a good idea to invest in a robot vacuum. Not only do these gadgets almost completely automate the vacuuming process, but they're nowhere near as expensive as they used to be.
Better still, Amazon is currently running a sale on a bunch of tech with a popular robot vacuum seeing an incredible discount this week. Normally £549, the eufy X8 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Mop is currently reduced down to £329.
With two motors providing 4,000Pa of suction power, it's more than capable of tackling messes on both carpets and hardwood floors. Even pet owners have complimented the vacuum's abilities thanks to a detangling roller brush.
The robot uses eufy's iPath laser navigation system to map out the layout of your home with its movements customisable in the eufy app. There, you can choose exactly which rooms it will clean and set a schedule so it only cleans while you're out of the house.
When it's not in use, the X8 Pro sits in a docking station where it deposits all the dirt it's sucked up. This is where you'll empty the dirt, with it carrying 2.5L of rubbish before reaching capacity.
Robot vacuums are ideal for top-up cleans, keeping things neat and tidy until you have time for a proper run around with a bigger device. They're unlikely to replace your traditional vac entirely, especially given they can't climb the stairs or get into those upper corners.
That's why it benefits to use a robot vacuum in tandem with a lightweight handheld vacuum to cover all your bases. This one from Tomoia is at its lowest price in 30 days, coming in at £25.98.
Alternatively, this model from eitton has a huge 12,000Pa suction rating which is ideal for pet hair. It has a 35 minute runtime and is available for £54.99 at Amazon.
Amazon reviews of the eufy X8 Pro Robot Vacuum Cleaner with Mop are overwhelmingly positive with a 4.4 star rating averaged across 1,470 reviews. “Super impressed with its performance. Cleans so well, suction is really good. It’s not intended to do a deep clean but a perfect option for maintenance cleaning,” reads one review.
Another customer wrote: “Having two dogs and two cats that shed regular, this hoover has helped kept my floors looking clean. The mop function is ok but works in streaks rather than a whole patch.” A third added: “We have dogs, we live on a farm and the family call her my indoor baler, she's been well tested in that respect. She goes round everyday and honestly my house has never been so clean.”
Other customers weren't so impressed with the mop function, saying it often leaves streak marks on the floor. “Received this a couple of weeks ago and happy with the hoover function but not impressed with the mop. Picture shows after it had completed the cycle when we returned from a muddy walk. Put it on almost straight after arriving home and didn't clean well. Leaves more like a little slug trail of water. For the money I wish I'd just gone for solely the hoover.”
Another shopper found the vacuum to be quite loud: “The robot is working fine although I wouldn't call it quiet. It is also quite “aggressive”, which could be a good or bad thing depending on the environment in which you want it used. In other words, wires and things like mats which my previous one didn't disturb, have been disturbed and pulled around.”
