The Range opening date for new Laois store with big pet surprise

The UK home, garden and leisure giant retailer The Range has announced details of its opening in Laois.

The company has taken over Homebase in Ireland.

They are opening The Range in Portlaoise Retail Park on Friday, April 11 at 9am, and have announced that it is to be a “dog friendly store”.

The Range is also retaining the Homebase Garden Centres in Portlaoise, along with many of its other stores across Ireland and the UK.

“A fun-filled event, join us for our official store opening to be one of the first to have a look around the brand new store, shop our range of favourite products plus the new & exclusive Homebase Garden Centre, unmissable offers & much more,” the company states on social media.

There are goodies for the first customers.

“There's goody bags for the first 50 in the queue! PLUS there will be 5 goody bags for the first 5 dogs in store – Don't miss out on this,” they say.

Final bargains are still to be had in Homebase as the store dramatically empties its shelves of stock ahead of the rebrand and reopening. 

The Portlaoise Homebase staff were informed of the liquidation of the company late last year. They were assured by their employer that there would be no job losses. Read more here.
