Another day, another national holiday and on April 11th we celebrate ALL THE PETS OF THE WORLD!!

It’s National Pet Day, aka the perfect excuse to spoil your furry or non-furry bestie.
This day celebrates ALL the pets in our lives  that don’t judge us and are always so excited to see us when we get home from work.

Pets come in all shapes and forms, and for dog owners pets come with some pretty interesting names, too! I wanted to hear what El Pasoans considered to be “the most El Pasoan” dog name and when I asked this question on Facebook, the comments did not disappoint!

Let’s be real: if your dog’s name isn’t Chico, is it even from the 915?

Chico and Chuco dominated the responses.
Emily shared that her abuelita had so many dogs named
Chico, it became a family meme.

Other favorites were spicy and full of flavor, like Taco, Gordita, Diablo (shoutout old-school Diablos baseball), and Chuy.

Some names just hit differently: Solovino (aka “he just showed up”), Pantaleon, and Chapopote
