CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Pets can get microchipped at a discounted rate at a low-cost clinic in Clovis thanks to an event by Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center and Clovis Animal Services.
With the Fourth of July around the corner, officials with Clovis Animal Services and Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center say it’s important now, more than ever, that pets are microchipped.
The event will be on Saturday, June 29, at Miss Winkles Pet Adoption Center at 85 Temperance Ave, Clovis. It will be from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Officials say that this simple precaution can help rescuers identify pets and get them back to their homes more easily if they ever become lost.
Dogs and cats will also be able to get vaccines at this clinic. Officials say owners must provide proof of last rabies vaccines if they would like to receive the three-year rabies vaccines.
The Clovis Animal Services form for the event says that the microchips will be $10.
Officials encourage owners to fill out the form for each pet that they plan to bring. City of Clovis dog licenses will also be available for free by email on Saturday, June 29.
Officials say those who need a dog license (City of Clovis residents only), to please separately email their dog’s current Rabies Certificate and separate Spay/Neuter Certificate to clovisanimalservices@cityofclovis.com.
