When life grows cold, a dog will warm your soul. Pets are like our best friends. A Husky dog in China has gone viral and become an internet sensation by assisting guests by carrying their luggage to a homestay hotel. As per the South China Morning Post, this unique service has drawn many tourists and generated up to 200,000 yuan (US$27,000) in just three days. The Husky dog, a four-legged porter is nicknamed Hakimi. It was raised by Xu, the owner of a homestay in the popular tourist city of Lijiang, Yunnan province, in southwestern China.
This dog, now an Internet sensation, earned Rs 2300000 in just three days by…, its name is….
“When Hakimi came to our home, it was very energetic. Last April, when I took it out to play and had the idea of having it try pulling a trolley, to my surprise, it learned right away,” Xu was quoted as saying by South China Morning Post. He added,” We never trained it. At first, it would occasionally turn over or bump into people, but it improved through practice. Its skills have improved. Also, it rarely destroys things at home, probably because it uses up its energy outside.”
Xu shared that Hakimi genuinely loves “working” and is enthusiastic about it. Each time it pulls the trolley, it gets excited, as if heading out to play. Hakimi’s usual working route covers approximately 200 meters, running from the South Gate of Lijiang Old Town to the homestay. In just three days, it has earned Rs 23 lakhs.
According to Xu, the dog is only brought out to transport luggage upon guest requests. With many visitors specifically asking for the service, Hakimi typically completes the task three to six times a day. Xu also mentioned that around 80 percent of the homestay’s guests choose to stay there primarily because of Hakimi’s unique service.
Hakimi’s social media fame came as a complete surprise. Xu initially shared videos of the dog transporting luggage just for fun, but to his amazement, they quickly went viral. Xu said, “Each video gets between one and 10 million views. Hakimi has become a ‘little fortune bringer’ for the homestay. At its peak, it brought in 200,000 yuan in online revenue in just three days.”
