Three pets were killed in a fire that broke out at a trailer on Austin Road Tuesday afternoon.

According to Battalion Chief Larry Williams of Coweta County Fire Rescue, the fire started just before 2:30 p.m.
at 556 Austin Road in an old single-wide trailer that had been expanded over the years.

The trailer had no power, and signs indicated that someone may have been squatting there.

When firefighters arrived, flames were coming from the roof and windows.
Although they were able to contain the fire, the trailer is believed to be a total loss.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

After extinguishing the blaze, firefighters found two cats and a dog deceased inside.
No one was home at the time, and there were no injuries to firefighters.

The trailer's owner reportedly lives out of state, and authorities are still working to determine whether there have been any recent occupants.
