Three pit bull dogs break loose, attacking people and pets; yet two sedated, one still at large

Local authorities found three pit bulls, all females between 2-3 years old, and contacted Sattahip’s livestock department for assistance and managed to sedate two of the dogs, but the third ran into a forested area in Moo 9.

SATTAHIP, ThailandPanic spread in Sattahip as three pit bull dogs broke loose, attacking people and pets in the area, September 8. Authorities managed to sedate two, but one dog escaped into a nearby forest, and efforts to capture it are still ongoing.

Late last night, the Kledkaew Subdistrict Municipality issued a public warning via their Facebook page, alerting residents about a pit bull sighting in the vicinity of Thewi Park Village in Moo 9. They urged pet owners whose dogs might be missing to check the area and warned locals to stay vigilant.

The incident began in the afternoon when several pit bulls were spotted in Moo 9, Bang Saray Subdistrict, Sattahip District. The dogs, appearing aggressive and without any apparent owner, chased and attacked residents and their pets. Local authorities responded by broadcasting warnings for residents to exercise caution.

On September 9 morning, Yosawat Phuwaratlertkhun, Mayor of Kledkaew Subdistrict Municipality, led a team from the Public Health and Environmental Department and the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Division to investigate. They found three pit bulls, all females between 2-3 years old, and contacted Sattahip’s livestock department for assistance. Working with local authorities, they managed to sedate two of the dogs, but the third ran into a forested area in Moo 9.

Currently, the escaped dog remains under close watch as authorities are actively searching to capture it with tranquilizers. So far, no one has come forward to claim ownership of the dogs. The two captured pit bulls are now in cages while officials continue to search for their owner. If no one steps forward, the dogs will be taken to a local stray dog shelter for care. (TNA)
