Today, the Advertiser is launching the 2025 search for the area’s favourite pet.
Our pets provide comfort, stress relief, friendship and laughter every day, so let’s celebrate them together.
The competition is not restricted to traditional pets like cats and dogs.
Last year, in the battle of the hamsters, Mr Soupie Soup narrowly beat Mango Cheesecake by just one per cent of the votes.
There are no classes or entry criteria apart from the requirement for all entries to be domestic pets – no matter how weird or wonderful.
The Top Pet winner will receive a photoshoot for them and their pet with our professional photographer and a framed 8”x10” photograph of choice from the shoot.
This year, Waitrose in Maidenhead will also give the winner £100 worth of pet products.
The Moorbridge Road store has recently undergone a multi-million-pound transformation, which even includes a new frozen food section for pets as part of its extensive range of foods, treats, toys and accessories for cats and dogs.
For human customers, a new sushi counter has been introduced to offer a range of sushi dishes freshly made everyday by a skilled team of sushi artisans as well as a new dry aged beef cabinet and revamped meat and fish counters.
A new served and self-service cheese and deli counter has been added along with a self-serve hot chicken and cold salad offer, whilst its award-winning wine selection has been expanded with a range of chilled white wine, champagne, rose and beer as well as an instant plunge chiller.
Mark Brown, branch manager said: “We are delighted to sumpport the Maidenhead Advertiser Top Pet 2025 competition.”
To submit your entry to our competition, simply email your photo to us (sorry, no posted photos) showing your pet it in all its glory.
Include with it, your name, your pet’s name and your daytime telephone number. Send it to sallyg@baylismedia.co.uk by Friday, May 16.
We will then print all the photos in the Advertiser and on the Maidenhead Advertiser website and ask readers to vote for their favourite online.
The winner will be the pet which polls the most votes.
So, what are you waiting for? Whether you have a cute cat, great gerbil, delightful dog, superb spider or regal reptile, share it with us and bring a smile to our faces.
Please note that all photos submitted should be in jpg format and should be no less than 1MB in size.
There is no cash alternative to the prize. The winning pet must be based in the geographic area covered by the Advertiser.
