CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Two families are without their home and their six pets after the animals were killed in an East Pennsboro fire on Tuesday night.
The fire broke out around 10:50p.m. and left both families in the duplex home without any of their belongings.

“We heard, like, a crackling sound. When we heard the cracking sound, I looked out the window and was able to see an orange glow in the corner of the window,” said homeowner Christopher Dennis. “At that point I told her to grab my son. We all went running downstairs and I could see that there was fire out on the front porch.”
Both families involved lost their pets, including two dogs and two cats that were killed in Dennis’ home. The fire did not spread to their neighboring home, but the smoke damage destroyed everything in Kate Moyers home.
“I didn’t get much fire damage but everything, everything smells,” Moyers said. “It will probably be like 5-6 months before we can possibly get back in that house.”
Each of the families involved are asking for donations. You can help the Moyers family by donating to their GoFundMe. To help Christopher and his family, you can donate to them via Venmo at @cmd121576.
