Norflock, October 18: A distressing incident unfolded in UKs Dereham, Norflock when an owner of XL Bully was mauled by its own pet dog at her house on Monday, October 16. The lady is in her sixties suffered multiple injuries and is now recuperating at Norfolk and Norwich Hospital. After attacking its owner, the dog fled from the house and was later shot dead by the police. Hearing the woman’s distress screams from her garden at Gateley Road, a concerned neighbour rushed to her aid and called the police.
The police swiftly responded to the emergency call and tracked the pet dog at a park of a local primary school. Unable to find a vet to sedate the dog, the police had to euthanise it. The series of events unfolded when the dog after attacking its owner was spotted running unrestrained in the direction of Brisley Church of England Primary Academy and entered the car park of a school. The police managed to tie it to a post and asked the students and teachers to vacate the school. Headteacher Belinda Allen said that there was no immediate danger to the staff or school students. There appears to be an increasing number of XL Bully dog attack incidents in the UK in recent times. In a similar incident two XL Bullies attacked a woman in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales. The woman suffered severe injuries and the incident left her with psychological trauma after two aggressive American XL Bully dogs charged at her, leading her to protect her 15-week-old puppy from their attack. During the harrowing seven-minute assault, these dogs allegedly attacked her, leaving her with numerous puncture wounds.
