A 73-year-old man and his pet dog are recovering from significant injuries after they were struck by a vehicle in Vacaville on Monday night, the police department said.Vacaville police said the man was walking his dog, named Snowman, in the crosswalk at the intersection of Browns Valley Road and Vaca Valley Parkway around 9:15 p.m. when they were both hit by a vehicle.Officials said the man was thrown onto the roadway, and investigators believe Snowman was dragged under the vehicle before limping away to a nearby house. The striking vehicle did not stop to check on them and continued to drive away.The police department said the man suffered a dislocated shoulder, a fractured hip and a fractured femur.
