(Video) 14yo Olympic Skateboarder Arisa Trew Earns Pet Duck After Winning Gold Medal

If you were a young Olympic gold medallist, what kind of prize would you ask from your parents to celebrate your victory? Imagine securing the top spot and having the chance to redeem a special reward. For some, it might be an expensive item, a dream vacation, or even an exotic pet.

On Wednesday (7th August), 14-year-old Olympic skateboarder Arisa Trew made history by becoming the youngest Australian to win a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Her remarkable victory was celebrated nationwide.

In a recent interview video posted on Fox Sports Australia’s YouTube channel, Arisa was asked how she would celebrate this victory of becoming Australia’s youngest gold medallist; she replied, “My parents promised if I won the gold medal I would get a pet duck.” The young star then added, “Ducks are really cute, and I really wanted a pet duck,” before stating that she would keep her new feathery friend in her family’s backyard pool.

As for why she chose a duck, Arisa explained that it was because her parents wouldn’t allow a cat or dog due to the family’s frequent travels. She felt that a duck would be easier to manage under their circumstances. “I feel like a duck might be a little bit easier, and I don’t know, I just want a duck,” she said.
