EAST LONGMEADOW, MASS. — W.F. Young, a family-owned animal company focused on enhancing animal health and wellness, recently achieved accreditation with the Pet Sustainability Coalition (PSC). According to the company, the accreditation emphasizes its dedication to advancing sustainability throughout the pet industry.

PSC is a non-profit organization that seeks to accelerate environmental and social initiatives throughout the pet and pet nutrition industries. The organization awards accreditation to industry companies that demonstrate exceptional performance in sustainability metrics.

W.F. Young’s accreditation highlights its continued efforts to reduce environmental impact, promote social responsibility and more. The company is focused on making its processes and products, including its use of raw materials, more environmentally friendly to serve as a leader for sustainability in the industry.

As part of this, W.F. Young currently offers five USDA Certified Organic products formulated with sustainably sourced ingredients and uses up to 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials in its packaging. Additionally, the company has saved more than 858,000 lbs of CO2 emissions through the use of solar power at its headquarters.

“Our sustainability strategy is a direct reflection of W.F. Young’s commitment to purposeful growth and innovation for a better tomorrow, and we are honored to receive accreditation from the Pet Sustainability Coalition,” said Jessica Lincoln, product manager of pet at W.F. Young. “Our mission — which is driven by our pioneering spirit, animal expertise and product technology — is to enrich and improve the lives of pets and people every day while shaping a viable future for the next generations.”
