CHICO, Calif. — Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue held a mini indoor yard sale on Saturday morning to raise funds for the rescue.
They say the idea came about when the old CVS facility was offered to the non-profit to use for a fundraiser.
The non-profit asked the community to donate unused items so they can sell it at the yard sale. The community came through, donating items like clothes, home decor, glassware, shoes and more. All profits made from the yard sale go directly towards the rescue.
Vaccines, spays, neuters and more are all included in the price of adoption, meaning it costs a little more to take care of the animals at the rescue.
They say there is a dying need to provide animals with loving homes, and couldn’t continue to help without a fundraiser like this one.
“It’s a need and right now there is still a crying need for homes for animals that have been abandoned or left adrift. Our dogs that we adopt out are as medically up to date as we can make them,” said Margaret Hayes of Wags and Whiskers Pet Rescue.
If you missed out on the yard sale but still want to help, they accept donations year round via Venmo (@Wagsandwhiskerschico), and in-person at the Chico Pet Vet located in the North Valley Plaza.
