You must have often heard that if a dog bites, 14 injections will be given in the stomach. Although 14 injections are not required, one should still be careful with dogs. Today we are going to tell you about some methods by which you can prevent the infection from spreading by using it as first aid. 

In fact, the way news of dangerous attacks by pet dogs has been coming in the last few days, it has created a fear among the people about dogs. According to a media report, in view of these incidents, ‘Delhi Municipal Corporation’ has made registration of pet dogs mandatory.

Wash the bite area

There is a risk of rabies due to dog bite. In such a situation, some precautions should be taken in the form of first aid before going to the doctor. For this, if a dog bites a person, then immediately wash the area where the dog has bitten with water and mild soap. Washing the bitten area for at least ten minutes can prevent the virus from spreading.

Apply antiseptic

To prevent the spread of rabies virus, wash and dry the dog bite area thoroughly with water, then apply a good antiseptic cream on the bite area. This will not spread the virus. If antiseptic cream is not available, you can also apply alcohol or iodine i.e. salt.

Get vaccinated

First aid is done to stop the virus from spreading, but after this do not delay in getting the vaccine. After dog bite and first aid, go to the doctor and get anti-rabies injection immediately. With this you will not be at risk of spreading rabies.
