Barbie was brought to Rescue Pets of Florida as a stray, but her rescuers quickly realized there was more to her story. Based on her injuries, it looked like Barbie had been hit by a car in the past, requiring a long road to recovery. The rescue gave her a comfortable place to rest while she healed.
“She’s very sweet and adores being with people and giving them gentle kisses,” Rescue Pets of Florida wrote. “She’s looking for a family that will love her forever and never leave her again on the streets.”
Barbie is Safe Now
Now that Barbie is safe at the shelter, she has come out of her shell a lot and grown stronger. She happily welcomed the new toy donations, which she plays with regularly and likes to keep to herself whenever possible.
The GOODS Program donates more than just toys; donations include whatever the shelter dogs need most. For many animal rescue organizations, that includes healthy food and treats. With food and other essential supplies out of the way, the rescue can focus its funds on other areas, such as medical care for injured dogs like Barbie.
