Emergency responders in Gloucester Township sprang into action on January 5, 2025, after a woman and her two dogs became trapped in the icy waters of Timber Creek. The incident unfolded at Timber Creek Dog Park, located at 1701 Chews Landing Road in Blackwood, NJ.

Officials credited emergency teams' quick and coordinated response for the successful rescue.

Specialized equipment was used to reach the stranded woman and her dogs, and medical personnel administered immediate care at the scene.

The woman was then transported to Cooper Hospital for further evaluation.

Fire departments from Chews Landing, Blackwood, Blenheim, and Bellmawr participated in the operation alongside Camden County Search and Rescue and medical teams from Inspira EMS and Virtua ALS.

Authorities have issued warnings about the dangers of venturing near frozen bodies of water.

“Unstable ice can form quickly as temperatures fluctuate, creating hazardous conditions,” Gloucester Township Police cautioned in an official statement.

Residents with additional information about the incident are urged to contact the Gloucester Township Police Department at (856) 228-4500.

Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling (856) 842-5560 or through the department’s website.
