Woman with two dogs reveals why she never walks her pets at the same time

A dog owner revealed she never walks her pets at the same time because of their ‘very different walking styles.'

Taylor (@tayrumport) showed off her two dogs' walking styles in a viral TikTok video she posted recently.

The TikToker explained she walks her dogs back to back, and that she speed walks with one, and goes for a ‘cool down walk' with the other.

‘The first pup (who also gets the first walk) wails like a baby at the door when I take pup #2,' she wrote in her video's comment section.

‘I walk them back to back – I give them each a kong or a lick mat with peanut butter & blueberries while I walk the other.

Taylor (@tayrumport) revealed the reason why she never walks her dogs at the same time is because of their different walking styles

Taylor's first walk is with her American Pit Bull Terrier mix, as shown during the July 20 video.

The fast-paced canine walked on the sidewalk and did not sniff anything in the surrounding area while Taylor recorded the TikTok.

The pup was also seemingly not spooked by nearby drivers.

The second dog, however, slowed up multiple times to smell dirt, grass, and the path itself.

The pup almost began walking in the opposite direction after being intrigued by a smell during the video.

Despite their vastly different walking styles, both canines appeared to be well behaved during walks in the video that's reached over 630,000 views.

One of Taylor's dogs walked at a quick pace, while the other went slowly and sniffed their surroundings

It's important to walk a dog on a regular basis, according to Swifto.

Pet owners are advised to walk their dogs at a ‘steady pace' that will help the animals stay next to them.

However, it is also healthy for dogs to sniff around, and allowing them to stop could provide ‘mental stimulation.'

Dogs experience the world through their noses,' an expert from the American Kennel Club wrote last August.

‘Just as we might want to look around to take in the scenery, they want to smell all their environment has to offer.'

Luckily there are tips that a pet owner can implement to help control a dog's walking style.

24Petwatch provided advice on how to walk two pets or more at the same time.

Some of these tips include walking at the pace of the slowest dog, using proper equipment, carrying treats, and using appropriate enforcements.

Various TikTok users claimed their dogs have similar walking styles and that their dogs allegedly stop and sniff their surrounds while on walks

TikTok chimed in to share their own experiences with their dogs.

‘I have a pit and she walks the same like block and a half everyday and just sniffs and turns around to go home,' a TikTok user wrote.

Another TikToker wrote: ‘My dog is def the second one – I always have to remind myself the walks are for her, not for me, so I should let her sniff and have fun.'
