Eli, a dedicated rescuer, received a report from her team about a litter of abandoned puppies. Five tiny pups, barely a month old, had been left to fend for themselves. They were hiding in a small, hard-to-reach hole, making the rescue effort challenging. Despite the difficulty, Eli was determined to save them. Seeing the vulnerable puppies separated from their mother broke Eli’s heart. Overcome with emotion, she couldn’t hold back his tears.
“I had a meltdown and was just crying for probably an hour,” Eli later admitted in the video by The Dodo below. Once she managed to calm himself, she carefully placed the puppies into a crate and took them home, whispering words of comfort along the way: “Let’s go home, babies. You’re safe now.”
When Eli opened the crate at home, the puppies hesitated, unsure of their new surroundings. It was likely their first time inside a house. Shy and cautious, they slowly ventured out, peeking around with wide eyes. For the first two weeks, the puppies remained in quarantine, adjusting to their new lives in a designated area. Eli lovingly cared for them, cleaning up after them and ensuring they felt safe.
“They saw me as their mom,” Eli said, recalling how the pups constantly sought her attention. Though the work was exhausting, Eli was devoted to their well-being. Once the quarantine period ended, the puppies were allowed to roam freely around the house and yard. That’s when the real chaos began. “It was…chaos,” Eli joked, reflecting on their lively antics.
Blackie Deserves Justice-Help Hold His Abuser Accountable.
A man couldn’t afford to pay for the surgery his dog desperately needed, so he decided to improvise and do it himself. In a shocking case of animal cruelty, the man admitted to applying tooth-numbing gel to his dog’s leg and then amputating it.
Now, nearly a year and a half later, the puppies have grown into adult dogs. One of them, Yuna, has been adopted and is thriving with her new family. Another dog in Eli’s care, Pooie, has become inseparable from Yuna. Meanwhile, the remaining three siblings, Teddy, Mila, and Kaa, are still waiting for their forever homes.
Eli remains hopeful. “They would very much love to find their loving forever homes,” she shared. Until then, Eli continues to shower them with love, ensuring they know they are cherished. Each day brings new moments of joy, laughter, and hope as Eli works tirelessly to secure happy futures for all her rescues. To see the full story, click below.
