Delilah is the perfect example of a dog impacted by the GOODS Program. Delilah found herself at the Warrensburg Animal Shelter alongside many other animals without homes, but luckily, Pawsibilities, a rescue in Windsor, Missouri, took her and a few other dogs into their care.
The rescue found out that Delilah was spayed, but she had no microchip. No owners came forward to claim her either. So, Delilah sat waiting for a forever home while she suffered from severe arthritis.
Delilah’s Second Chance
Since Delilah is such a sweetheart, it didn’t take her long to find her forever family. She was adopted into a home that had a small dog and a cat that she could play with, and she quickly fell in love with both of her four-legged siblings. Her humans are also working on managing her arthritis with the help of a vet.
Pawsibilities was able to save Delilah and find her the home of her dreams because of generous donations from the GOODS Program. By receiving food donations, the rescue no longer has to worry about food expenses, allowing them to use their funds on other areas of care, such as medical needs.
“Since the GOODS Program provides dog food, we are able to put funding toward a community spay and neuter program, reducing pet overpopulation,” Pawsibilities wrote.
