Twelve special pets from around B.C. will be featured in the BC SPCA’s 2025 calendar
Your pet could be a pin-up, thanks to the BC SPCA Calendar Contest!
The annual contest, presented by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, is back, and the search is on for 12 exceptional pets to star in the BC SPCA’s 2025 calendar. From Jan. 30 through Feb. 17, pet owners across B.C. have a chance to share their favourite pictures of their furry friends and show why they’re so special.
“We have 12 pages to fill with photos of amazing animals,” says Alina Wilson, senior officer, digital giving. “Sharing your beloved pet’s photo and story in our Calendar Contest is the perfect way to celebrate their special place in your life and heart while also raising urgently needed funds for abandoned, abused, and injured animals.”
All you have to do is upload your pet’s photo and story to the Calendar Contest website, then invite friends and family to donate in support. The 12 animals (six dogs and six cats/other amazing pets) with the most votes at 8 p.m. on Feb. 17 will win the cover or a full page in the 2025 BC SPCA Calendar, which will be available to purchase online. Your pet brightens up your day; it just might end up brightening a whole month of days for tens of thousands of people across the province.
There is also the Hill’s Honourable Mention, awarded by Hill’s to an outstanding pet entry who raises 50 votes or more. Hill’s generously provides all the food for the cats and dogs in BC SPCA care, and is excited to return as the sponsor of the Calendar Contest fundraiser.
“There’s no better way to celebrate beloved pets while also giving vulnerable animals a chance to find their own safe, loving home,” says Frances Cheslo, engagement specialist, Hill’s Pet Nutrition Canada.
“Every year we’re surprised and delighted by this caring community. We look forward to crowning one lucky pet as the Hill’s Honourable Mention.”
The BC SPCA’s Calendar Contest provides vital funds for animal welfare, including animal protection, sheltering and adoption, and a wide range of outreach, advocacy, and education services. Last year, the BC SPCA helped more than 135,000 domestic, farm, and wild animals in need thanks to caring British Columbians.
