A pit bull mix, a shepherd mix and a mule

Gary is an 8-month-old pit bull terrier mix who came to the Humane Society of Missouri’s Macklind Avenue headquarters in June as an owner surrender. Gary has been working with HSMO’s behavior team on his basic training and obedience and is very smart. He has lots of puppy energy and would love a family that’s willing to work with him.

To adopt: Call the Macklind Avenue Headquarters at 314-951-1562 or visit hsmo.org/adopt.

Pet of the week: Gus

Gus is an 18-year-old mule who came to Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in May. When Gus arrived, he was terrified of humans. After a lot of trial and error, trainers found that this introverted mule did best with a single person working with him. He enjoys positive reinforcement with treats when it comes to training and gaining trust. He gets along very well with other equine and tends to be in the middle of the pecking order. Gus would likely flourish and an experienced mule adopter.

Dingo is an 8-month-old German shepherd mix who came to HSMO’s Maryland Heights shelter earlier this month as an owner surrender. Dingo loves crinkly and squeaky toys and would love an active family to burn off his puppy energy.

To adopt: Call the Best Buddy Pet Center in Maryland Heights at 314-951-1588 or visit hsmo.org/adopt.

Last week’s pets: Dogs named Keebler and Prisma and a duck named Harvey are all still available.
