Comber: Woman and pet dog threatened by burglars during ‘terrifying’ raid

The suspects, who had their faces covered, stole jewellery and cash.

Police said the woman suffered “a terrifying ordeal”.

The incident happened in Comber on Friday evening.

At around 7pm, the woman heard her dog barking at the back door of her Hillside Park home, and went to let her pet outside.

When she opened the door, she discovered two men at her door with their faces obscured with snoods pulled up and hoodies.

The PSNI said: ”They made threats to harm her and her dog before one of the men pushed past into the property.

“He proceeded to search the home and, upon seeing a safe, he ordered the woman to open and empty its contents.

“Both men then left with jewellery – of significant financial and sentimental value – and a sum of cash.

“This has been a terrifying ordeal for this woman in her own home, somewhere she should feel safe.

“As part of our investigation, we are keen to speak to anyone who was in the Hillside Park or wider area around 7pm to call us on 101 quoting reference 1547 12/01/24.

“Also if anyone has any mobile phone, CCTV, doorbell camera or dash-cam footage that could help with our enquiries, please get in contact.”
