Darlington’s Dogs Trust: 12 dogs up for adoption – Christmas

Dogs Trust Darlington have plenty of rescue dogs looking for a forever home this month.

We have compiled a list of 12 pups hoping to bring some light into their new owner’s lives.

Polly, German Shepherd cross

This young girl is looking for the right home where she can get all the attention she needs – and would do best in a household without any young children or other pets, who can help her with socialisation.

This pup is looking for an active family who can help her with training sessions and build confidence.

Cookie, Bulldog cross

A bulldog cross aged 1-2 years, Cookie is seeking a peaceful home with no children or other pets.

Described as “still acting like a puppy”, this affectionate, playful dog will make for a delightful addition to an adult-only household prepared to keep her entertained and continue her training.

Bracken, Spaniel

Bracken, a 4-year-old Spaniel, is a shy character who needs a supportive family to boost his confidence.

Severely affected by separation anxiety, he requires around-the-clock attention to help him establish and feel safe in his new living arrangements.

Walks in quieter areas due to his wariness of other pups will keep him physically active and happy.

Leo, Border Collie

For those seeking an older companion, meet Leo—an 8-year-old Collie with medical needs.

Although he enjoys playtime, Leo’s favourite pastime is a doze on the couch next to his loved ones.

His ideal household would have someone at home throughout the day, with symbolic exercises of fetch providing him with a sprinkling of adventure.

His perfectly matched household would include older teens used to larger breeds.

Silky and Tammy, German Shepherd

Silky, a German Shepherd cross, a shy girl alongside her best pal Tammy, longs for quieter home with sensible older teens.

Having led a sheltered life, these girls are enjoying the home comforts in foster care until they find their forever homes.

Bow, Sharpei

Finally, Bow, a 5-year-old Sharpei, is a sweetheart who wants a new home with secondary-school-age children who can be patient while she settles in.
