ROCKFORD, ILL. — Phelps Pet Products’ Disney Table Scraps™ line of dog treats was named Upcycled Dog Treat of the Year by the Independent Pet Innovation Awards earlier this year. The fifth-annual awards program recognized more than 40 pet food, treat and supplement brands for their outstanding products.
The Disney Table Scraps line was first introduced in March 2021 following Phelps’ licensing agreement with The Walt Disney Company. The line was designed to highlight ingredient and formulation trends including the use of upcycled, plant-based, organic and superfood ingredients, while also featuring beloved Disney characters on product packaging.
Phelps Pet Products received more than 2,000 nominations for its Disney Table Scraps line in the Upcycled Dog Treat of the Year category. The dog treat line was one of the first to be certified by the Upcycled Food Association, according to the company.
The line consists of seven formulas in its “everyday collection,” three special-edition Christmas Bark formulas, and two new cat treat products launched in August.
