Expanded Recall Now Includes All The Company’s Dry Dog And Cat Food

About a month ago, Texas Farm Products Company (TFP Nutrition) recalled some of their Retriever All Life Stages Mini Chunk Chicken Recipe Dry Dog Food due to potential Salmonella contamination. On November 16, 2023, the company expanded the voluntary recall to include all of their dry dog, dry cat, and catfish formulas made in their Nacogdoches, Texas, facility. Like the original recall, these formulas were also pulled due to the risk of Salmonella. Since Salmonella can harm both pets and humans, it’s important for families serving this food to take precautions.

Which Products are Affected?

The recall includes over 50 formulas made by TFP Nutrition. The brands of food affected include Retriever, Exclusive, Member’s Mark, Lone Star, Star Pro, H-E-B Texas Pets, and more. You can see the full list of recalled products here.

The food was shipped to many stores and distributors across the United States. TFP Nutrition is currently working with retailers to ensure that all these pet food recipes get removed from the shelves as soon as possible.

Dangers of Salmonella for Dogs and Humans

Dogs and other pets with Salmonella infections could experience lethargy, diarrhea, fever, vomiting, decreased appetite, and abdominal pain. However, pets can also carry Salmonella without showing any symptoms, which could put humans and other pets at risk.

Humans who have interacted with the recalled food should pay close attention to unusual symptoms like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramping. What to Do with the Recalled Products

Wash any surfaces the food could’ve come into contact with, such as bowls, storage containers, and counters. Then, thoroughly wash your hands.
