An Ooltewah-area family has lost their home and a pet after a house fire early Friday morning.
The Highway 58 Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fully involved house fire around 3:00am on Snow Hill Road, then requested back up from the Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department and Chattanooga Fire Department.
The Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management says two adults escaped the home but one dog died in the fire.
The house is a total loss.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is investigating what caused the fire.
