Firefighters: Person burned in Georgetown house fire, pet dies

Patient taken to UK Hospital with severe burns

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – One person is recovering from severe burns following a Wednesday house fire in Georgetown, KY.

According to GFD, when firefighters arrived, the home was in flames.

Fire crews say they faced intense heat and black-out smoke conditions when they went into the structure.

Inside, they found a person unconscious, and that patient was taken to UK Hospital with severe burns.

It’s not clear how the individual is doing today (Thursday).

Firefighters also found two small dogs inside, but say one of the dogs was already dead. The other was treated and is expected to make a full recovery.

Georgetown/Scott County EMS and Scott County Fire Department assisted.
